Two XPT Trains depart Sydney daily. The day train departs Central Station at 7.11am and requires a coach transfer from Casino to Roma Street Station in Brisbane. The night train departs Central Station at 2.41pm and this is a direct service to Brisbane, arriving at 4.53am. This XPT-service began in Casino heading towards Sydney overnight. Takes around 12 hours, departing at 7 pm and arriving at Sydney Central at 7 am. Some trains begin in Brisbane already though, then it is around 14 hours. Other XPT services also go from Sydney to Melbourne or from Sydney to Dubbo, NSW. Apr 01, 2018 I paid for a first class TRAIN ticket from Sydney, NSW to Brisbane. My itinerary had a train change about 100 miles from Brisbane. It turns out that there is no train the last 100 miles. I was not warned or informed that a segment of the trip would be on a bus. We recently took the overnight XPT from Melbourne to Sydney in a sleeper cabin. Servicing destinations throughout Brisbane, Melbourne and New South Wales, NSW TrainLink (express passenger trains) offers a comfortable modern coach and rail network to carry passengers economy or first class, in the comfort of air conditioning on day, night and overnight routes. Brilliant 11 hour trip from Sydney to Casino on the 15th April 2017.Passed through some lovely countryside in relative comfort. Staff were great.. buffet was good. Train stops at over 20 stations en-route.

I have taken the train to the airport more than once, if you take the train from the city to the airport which is only 3 or 4 stops will cost us over 16 dollars in a crappy train, stinks like hell, some brake fluid I think which is in no way good to our health. in comparison in Perth taking a train from Mandurah which is 45 minutes from the city and then a bus to the airport costs 10 dollars, how disgusting is nsw.
